The story begins with 2wice Shye's in 2012, as they began to explore the electronic music landscape together under the alias "Middle Ground." However, despite their best efforts, their techno sound faced resistance, prompting them to pivot towards the deep house domain. This phase marked a crucial period of experimentation, as they sought to find their authentic voice within the electronic music spectrum.In 2016, 2wice Shye broke into down-tempo acid techno, gaining global attention with releases on DJ Pierre's label. Despite international success, they struggled to make an impact in South Africa. They then joined Universal Music, achieving commercial success but feeling unfulfilled. In 2019, they returned to their techno roots, finding happiness and artistic identity. They now balance occasional commercial tracks with underground techno, showcasing their unique blend of accessibility and authenticity.
